My life and career have shown that courage, hard work, public service, advocacy, and leadership can change lives, build stronger communities, and create a better Wisconsin. I am a first-generation American, whose family came to America in 1976 fleeing genocide after the war.

I am pro-choice and committed to ending gun violence. We must increase access to health care. I will support small businesses and small family farms. I will work to increase access to childcare and increase access to broadband.

Currently, I am the CEO of the Hmong Institute, a statewide non-profit that works to close gaps in education and increase access to health care. I have been a small business owner, led one of the Promise Zone Initiatives created by President Obama, and oversaw outreach for a cutting edge program designed to help eliminate poverty at the world renown Institute for Research on Poverty at UW Madison. I got my start in community organizing as the Executive Director of a neighborhood planning council fighting to remove PFAFS from our drinking water.

My work and leadership has changed policy at the federal, state, and local levels. I am running for Lt. Governor to put my diverse executive experience, my lived experience, and my ability to lift up new voices to work for the people of Wisconsin. If elected, I would be the first Hmong elected to a statewide office in the US. I will be a strong partner to Governor Tony Evers in making Wisconsin even better.
  • I am running for Lt. Governor to put my diverse executive experience, my lived experience, and my ability to lift up new voices to work for the people of Wisconsin.
  • This is a critical time for Wisconsin. There is no question about what is on the ballot this November: Reproductive freedom is on the ballot. Ending gun violence is on the ballot. Clean water and clean air are on the ballot. Wisconsin’s transition to Clean Energy is on the ballot. Our right to vote is on the ballot. Our democracy is on the ballot.
  • We need the strongest partner for Governor Tony Evers both during this campaign and in office. I am that candidate.
Protecting access to abortion and reproductive rights; ending gun violence; investing in public schools and the UW system; increasing access to health care; delivering family-supporting policies such as paid family leave, a $15 minimum wage, and access to quality childcare; strengthening Wisconsin's agricultural and rural economies.
Serving as a strong partner to the Governor, Wisconsin's Lieutenant Governor can draw attention to specific issues, reach out to Wisconsinites statewide on behalf of the Administration, and ensure every Wisconsinite is heard and has a voice at the table.
I look up to my parents. My father was a school teacher before joining the military in Laos. My mother then took care of the family farm and raised me and my five siblings. They sacrificed everything to get on a plane so that their children would have an opportunity to live. Everyday, they teach me the value of humility, honesty, and integrity.
Because of the Hmong's alliance with the United States we were targeted for genocide after the Vietnam war. My family and I fled through the jungle of Laos and lived in a refugee camp in Thailand. There was no running water, access to healthcare, education or employment opportunity. My family and I came to the United States in December of 1976 with nothing but the clothes on our backs and the will to survive and make it in America. I was five years old but still remember walking off the plane in Des Moines, IA and the first time feeling the cold winter air. This experience taught me the value of working hard to learn English and survive, not taking anything for granted, and an eternal optimism that we can over come anything if we work hard enough to make this world a better place.
I've been a public servant all my life. I bring a new voice to Wisconsin politics. I have statewide experience having been appointed by Governor Evers' to his Early Childhood Advisory Council because of my passion and leadership in early childhood education. I was appointed to Governor Evers' What's Best for Kids committee to advise his transition team on policy for children and family. I serve on the statewide Race Equity group on homelessness. My work has changed lives, and policy, locally, nationally, and here in Wisconsin.
My diverse executive leadership experience and my proven track record in bringing people together to solve tough problems.
