Six seats on the Pennsbury School District Board of Directors were up for general election on November 3, 2015. A primary election was held on May 19, 2015.
In Region 1, T.R. Kannan (D) defeated David Gibbon (R). Gibbon was selected by the Republican Party as the replacement for Carla Neubaum who withdrew from the race after the primary election. Incumbents Jacqueline Redner, John Palmer and Gary Sanderson won election without opposition for the three seats in Region 2. Kim Hilty (D) defeated Annette Dearolf (R) for a two-year term left by former board member Debra Deblasio in Region 3. Christian Schwartz (D) defeated Allan Weisel (R) for a four-year term in Region 3. No independent candidates filed for the general election.[1][2][3]

The Pennsbury School District is located in east-central Pennsylvania in Bucks County. The city of Doylestown is the county seaty. In 2013, the county had a population of 626,976 according to the United States Census Bureau.[4] In the 2012-2013 school year, the Pennsbury School District was the 15th-largest school district in Pennsylvania and served 10,434 students.[5]
Demographics
According to the United States Census Bureau, Bucks County outperformed the state in terms of higher education achievement in 2013. The percentage of residents over 25 with a bachelor's degree was 35.8 percent, compared to rest of the state of Pennsylvania which was 27.5 percent. The median household income in the county was $76,555 compared to Pennsylvania's statewide median of $52,548. The poverty rate for the county was 5.4 percent, while the state as a whole had a poverty rate of 13.3 percent.[4]

Voter and candidate information
The Pennsbury Board of Directors consists of nine members elected to four-year terms. The members of the board are elected by voters in three geographical district. The primary election for the Pennsbury School Board of Directors was held on May 19, 2015, and the general election was held on November 3, 2015. Six seats were up for election on November 3, 2015.[2]
School board candidates had to file for this election with Bucks County by March 10, 2015. Those wishing to run as an independent candidate had until August 3, 2015, to file. To vote in the primary election, residents had to register by April 20, 2015, and to vote in the general election, residents had to register by October 5, 2015.[7]

Endorsements
Kannan received official endorsements from state Rep. Steve Santarsiero (D-31), Bucks County Commissioner Diane Marseglia and current school board directors Debra Wachspress and Josh Waldorf in the primary election.[8]
Hilty received an official endorsement from Robert Harvie, the chairman of the Falls Township Board of Supervisors in the primary election.[9]
Schwartz received official endorsements from state Rep. Steve Santarsiero (D-31), Robert Harvie, chairman of the Falls Township Board of Supervisors and Dave Rivella, the mayor of Morrisville Borough in the primary election.[10]
Dearolf and Weisel received an official endorsement from the Lower Makefield GOP Club.[11]
