I am running to create stronger Texas families and believe that this can be achieved by empowering education, the economy, and healthcare. As a former paralegal and educator, I developed a keen understanding of the intricacies of law and justice. My experience reinforces my belief in fairness, equality, and public service. I have a deep desire to impact future generations and am committed to empowering the diverse voices of our community.
  • We need to support public education by supporting teachers, providing more mental health services, and advocating for all families.
  • Our families are struggling because of rising property taxes and property insurance, and inflation is being driven by artificial intelligence and corporate greed. We need to protect our families and communities by ending these practices.
  • Reproductive healthcare laws and policies are making it dangerous for women and families in the state of Texas. Mortality rates and STDs are rising because we are attacking the institutions who educate and support communities. We need to keep religion out of our legislation.
Public education is being underfunded in the state of Texas and the Texas Education Agency is allowing harmful legislation to undermine our independent school districts efforts to educate all students. The state of Texas is also allowing efforts to suppress voters by rejecting mail in ballots. This is not very democratic of our current leaders. Marginalized communities are being attacked, isolated, and bullied into corners. Let them live! We all deserve to be respected and to live a life with dignity and peace. Hints our national anthem, "...with liberty and justice for ALL."
I look up to my sister and older cousins. We are all children of immigrants and they literally guided our parents through every milestone. They enrolled us in schools, interpreted at government offices, helped them apply for mortgages, and helped raise the rest of us. Their selfless service showed me how important it is to use the skills that you have to help others. The fact that they spoke English was so vital to our success, and a lot of us take that for granted.
I am compassionate and committed to the success of all Texas families.
To carefully draft legislation that will improve the lives of all Texans.
9/11 - I was a freshman in high school. Everything stopped. Teachers were in shock and letting us all sit in silence as we all watched the second plane hit the tower. A lot of my brother's friends enlisted that year, along with a few of mine when they were of age.
Legal assistant for an immigration attorney. 3 years
It felt like there were always barriers, and finding a way to climb over them sometimes caused a few bumps and bruises. I carry those scars with great pride. They taught me that these obstacles might leave a scar, but the risk was worth the reward.
Respect is my ideal relationship between the governor and state legislator. Each body needs to respect each other.
The greatest challenges for Texas over the next decade is again respect. Respecting all of the families and communities who have chosen to root their families here with the hopes of achieving the American dream. I am for a safe and secure border, and the current leaders are making it dangerous for entire communities with harmful legislation.
We have too many legislators who are prioritizing their own financial gains or agendas. We need state legislators who have experience in all public service sectors to bring a diverse set of ideas.
I believe it is beneficial to build authentic relationships with other legislators because we all bring something to the table. Conversations should be had with different minds instead of only listening to one side or the other. We need to stop shutting out the voices that represent all Texans.
All of those leaders who have stood up for what is right, even if it is not popular with their party.
Most of the parents in my school district oppose vouchers, our superintendent also sends out constant communications on how to contact our current representatives to tell them how their legislation is going to hurt our schools and communities. We should be listening to the constituents that we represent.
I believe any position of leadership needs to meet people where they are at. Being able to mediate is vital to policymaking because we represent a very diverse state.
Review and amend harmful bills. I want to listen to professionals, specialists, and communities on how the legislation has impacted their communities in a negative way and change that.
