Priorities and Issues If Perla is elected, within the first 30 days of being sworn in as Lt Governor, she will propose multiple bills be brought to the House Floor, each open for debate, for a clear and fair vote. The bills will address top priorities for Texans everywhere! Eliminate Property Taxes You pay tax when you purchase your home. You shouldn't have to pay more forever ever after. Texans should be able to own their home without paying property taxes indefinitely. She has signed the EPT Pledge, and proposes Restore Texas Education We should be #1. A renewed focus on the basics in reading, writing, STEM and CIVICS. We can inspire our students to love America, work hard, and achieve the American Dream. Stop Foreign Land Grabs Texas is not for sale. We will stop land grabs, especially near TX military bases. Ban Sharia Law & Courts in Texas. Investigate Schools and Mosques tied to terrorist organizations. Constitutional Rights Preserve, Protect, and Uphold the U.S. Constitution and the Constitution of the Great State of Texas. I will safeguard every citizen's right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Protect free speech, and our heritage, both American and Texan. Defend Human Rights & Right to Life As a conservative Christian mother, I believe in the sanctity of all life. Abortion Homicide Exemption - only to be used in the most extreme circumstances, such as when a mother's life is at risk (non-elective). The importance of children's rights and family values. The right to self-defense, to keep and bear arms, and lawful carry. Medical Freedom As a proud Texan, I'm firmly in favor of medical freedom. Specifically, Informed Consent - your right to receive medical information and presentation of options and have the liberty to make your own decision in regard to your health. Equally important is the right of parents and guardians to be informed of and approve medical care provided to their children, most specifically in schools. Parental Rights Fierce advocacy of parents' rights regarding the education their children receive in public schoolsme. As such, parents should not be viewed as an "interruption" at school board meetings, but their voices should be heard and their presence respected. The Open Meetings Act and First Amendment will be a top priority. Keeping Texans Safe Safety for Texans is paramount! We will continue continued construction of our southern border wall, preventing unlawful entries, and appropriately staffing and supporting our border agents, defenders, and first responders. Election Integrity The election process should be transparent, fair, and accurate. I will support bills and procedures that ensure Texans are represented and that their vote counts. I will work to make sure that voter registration processes are secure and that use of an identification card be a requirement. Ending Trafficking Texas ranks #2 in the United States in human trafficking. This is not acceptable. Amber Alerts flood our phones, reminding us of this crisis. Keeping our kids safe, securing the border, and enacting legislation with zero tolerance for human trafficking offenses. |
