This measure sought to add to the current police levy by a rate of $.43 per $100 of assessed property value for a further three years in order to continue to pay for vehicle maintenance and building operations costs in the village.[2]
Text of measure
The question on the ballot:
An additional tax for the benefit of Perry Village for the purpose of providing and maintaining motor vehicles, communications, other equipment, buildings, and sites for such buildings used directly in operation of a police department, or payment of salaries of permanent police personnel, including the payment of the police officer employers’ contribution required under section 742.33 of the Revised Code at a rate not exceeding 4.3 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to 43 cents for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for three years, commencing in 2011, first due in calendar year 2012.[3] |
