Peter Briggs
Peter Briggs (Republican Party) ran for election to the Vermont State Senate to represent Addison District. He lost in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Briggs was a 2016 Republican candidate for the Addison District of the Vermont State Senate. Briggs was also a 2014 Republican candidate for Addison-3 District of the Vermont House of Representatives.[1] He earned his place on the general election ballot as a write-in candidate.[2]
Biography
Briggs was born in Middlebury, VT and raised in Addison. He is a fourth generation worker on his family's dairy farm.[2]

2014
Elections for the Vermont House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on August 26, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 12, 2014. Addison-3 has two state representatives. Incumbent Diane Lanpher and John Spencer were unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Warren Van Wyck was unopposed in the Republican primary ballot,[7][8][9][10] but Peter Briggs launched a successful write-in candidate campaign. Lanpher and Van Wyck defeated Spencer and Briggs in the general election.[2][1]
