Peter Cannon was the Precinct 3 incumbent on the Davis Board of Education in Utah. He lost in the primary election on June 24, 2014, to challengers David S. Nelson and Julie Tanner.

Cannon was also a 2012 Republican candidate for District 18 of the Utah House of Representatives.

Cannon ran in the 2012 election for Utah House of Representatives District 18. He ran against incumbent Roger Barrus in the Republican primary, but withdrew prior to the election on June 26, 2012. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[2]
