Peter Irvine
Peter Irvine was a judge of the Minnesota Seventh Judicial District and served in Becker County, Minnesota. He was originally appointed to this position by Governor Jesse Ventura in 2000 and was elected to full terms in 2002 and 2008. He retired as the chief judge on October 31, 2013, and assumed senior status. His term expired on June 30, 2017.[1]
Education
Irvine received his B.A. from Cornell College in 1968 and his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1976. Prior to attending law school, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1973.[1]
Career
Irvine began his legal career as an attorney for the law firm of Irvine, Ramstad, Briggs, Karkella & Ziegler, PA. He worked in this position and as a part-time public defender from 1976 until his judicial appointment in 2000. From 1980 to 2000, he also served as attorney for the Perham School Board.[1]
