Peter J. Panuthos is an Article I special trial judge for the United States Tax Court. Panuthos was appointed to the court on June 12, 1983.[1]

Education

Panuthos earned his B.S. from Bryant College and his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School. He also holds a LL.M. from Boston University.[1]

Professional career

Panuthos is admitted to the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts, District of Columbia Bar and the United States Supreme Court. From 1970 to 1983, he was a trial attorney and assistant district counsel for the Boston Office of Chief Counsel, Internal Revenue Service.[1]

Judicial career

Panuthos was appointed to the United States Tax Court as a special trials judge on June 12, 1983. On June 1, 1992, he was elevated to Chief Special Trial Judge.[1]
