Peter Lewis of Bowdoinham is the proud son of a veteran whose deep Maine roots reach back for three generations. Family is of immense importance to Peter. He grew up in a large family and is a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Peter is an entrepreneur with strong leadership qualities. He owns and operates two small businesses; T&K Tactical, a local firearms business, and Taknology, specializing in technology consulting and custom software development, while holding an executive position with Lime Energy, a National Energy Efficiency company. He has worked as a leader in technology for: Western Geophysical, Microsoft, Unum, and Lime Energy. With his strong history in initiating and growing small technology start-ups, Peter understands the critical importance of teamwork to accomplish goals.

His strong passion for community service was born of frustration when vendors for his local Cable TV and Internet providers held back expanding coverage for his hometown. Peter acted, ran for Select Board and won. Today in his 2nd term as Select Board Chair, he led the Board in obtaining a ConnectME grant, enabling expansion of broadband services to critically unserved areas.

  • Life, Liberty and Property are the bedrock of the American experiment that has made the United States the greatest nation in history. I am unrelenting and will protect and defend these crucial rights for all citizens.
  • The fruits of our labor belong to us, not the government. Government must learn to budget within its means just as we do as citizens, and work to increase the quality of services while reducing Maine's tax burden.
  • I have seen first-hand the skyrocketing costs and lack of access to quality and affordable health care. Adding additional layers of bureaucracy and placing the State in control of our health care is not the answer. Maine needs policies that enable greater price transparency, increased market competition, expanded tele-medicine options, and the ability to purchase health coverage across state lines.
As a member of several pro-gun organizations and a Federal Firearms Licensee you can count on my tireless support to defend our 2nd Amendment rights, and all rights protected by the Constitution. I will lead the charge to pass legislation that protects the privacy of Maine people and their data.

I believe in finding common ground solutions to lower income tax with a charge toward abolishing it completely. I will bring my entrepreneurial business experience building and managing effective teams to Augusta and put our state back on a path to fiscal security and prosperity.

With the largest share of property taxes in our communities going directly to school budgets, we must address and reform how Maine's education system is funded. As your Representative to the State Legislature, I will focus on implementing policy that will reduce the property tax burden on our communities.

In 2020 Maine celebrates 200 years of statehood, yet after two centuries our Legislatures have failed to develop a plan that ensures proper upkeep and maintenance of our roads and bridges. The world's increased reliance on online or "connected" services is indisputable yet many regions of Maine still lack broadband internet access. The State's heritage industries of Forest, Farming and Fishing continue, but we lack adequate port and rail essential to the distribution of our products.
