Peter D. Webster was a judge on the Florida First District Court of Appeal. He was appointed to this position in 1991[1] and was retained by voters in 1994,[2] 2000[3] and 2006.[4] His last term would have expired on January 1, 2013, but he retired from the court on June 1, 2011.[5]
Education
Peter Webster was born on February 12, 1949 in Framingham, Massachusetts. He graduated from Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in 1971. He went on to receive his law degree from Duke University School of Law in 1974. He received his master's degree in judicial process (LL.M.) from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1995. He is married with one child.[1]
Career
Peter Webster began his legal career in 1974 as a law clerk for a United States District Judge. From 1975 to 1985, he was an associate, then a member, of Bedell, Bedell, Dittmar, Smith & Zehmer, P.A. He became a circuit judge in 1986, sitting on the 4th Florida Judicial Circuit. He held this position until his appointment to the Court of Appeals in 1991.[1]
