|Phil has always made serving his community a priority. He served as a paid-on-call Firefighter and Paramedic with the Marion Fire Department, retiring in October 2019 after 38 years. Phil worked as a Flight Paramedic with St. Luke's Hospital LifeGuard helicopter air ambulance. He is known as an expert in vehicle and machinery rescue, and has traveled the world training fire rescue services on modern extrication tools and techniques. He was the Lead Instructor in Vehicle Rescue for the Iowa Fire Service Training Bureau.
He has also served as a Board Member and Past President with the Marion Chamber of Commerce, the Experimental Aircraft Association Vice Chairman of Photography, and a member of the Marion Airport Advisory Committee.

- High is a passionate volunteer who works hard to serve the needs of his community.
