Philadelphia Traffic Court
The Philadelphia Traffic Court was abolished on June 19, 2013, after Gov. Tom Corbett signed legislation that was approved by both houses of the legislature. The Traffic Court had developed a poor reputation over the years. The elimination of the court followed nine federal indictments against current and former Traffic Court judges related to a ticket-fixing scandal. The functions of the court were moved to the Philadelphia Municipal Court.[1]
