Four seats on the Madera Unified School District Board of Education were up for general election on November 4, 2014. In Trustee Area 2, incumbent Lynn Cogdill faced two challengers, Ed McIntyre and Jimmy Monreal. McIntyre defeated Cogdill and Monreal to win the seat. Trustee Area 4 incumbent Maria Velarde-Garcia ran against challengers Philip Huerta and Ron Montoya and won her bid for re-election. Newcomer Al Galvez ran unopposed and won election to Trustee Area 5 by default. The Trustee Area 7 race featured incumbent Jose Rodriguez and challenger Brent A. Fernandes. Fernandes defeated Rodriguez and won the election.
