Philip M. Freedman is a retired judge serving on recall in the Vicinage 5 Superior Court in New Jersey. [1]
Education
Judge Freedman received his undergraduate degree from Tufts University in 1961 and his J.D. from Cornell Law School in 1964.
Career
From 1964 to 1965, after graduation from law school, Judge Freedman served as a law clerk to the Hon. Sol Schulman in the Vicinage 5 Superior Court in Hudson County. Following his clerkship, from 1965 to 1979, he was employed at Teltser, Byrne & Greenberg, an East Orange law firm. He also served as an assistant prosecutor in the Essex County Prosecutor's Office from 1966 to 1967. He was appointed to the Superior Court of New Jersey in 1979 by Governor Brendan Byrne.
