Campaign themes

2016

The following issues were listed on Rosenthal's campaign website. For a full list of campaign themes, click here.

  • Iran: We cannot let Iran become a nuclear power notwithstanding the disastrous nuclear deal approved by Congressman Nadler. As Iran continues to sponsor terrorism, flout its international obligations, and declare “death to America” and “death to Israel,” Congress must vote to impose sanctions on Iran and ensure that it never gets a nuclear weapon.
  • National security: When America retreats, evil advances. The best hope for peace at home and stability around the world is America remaining the one true global superpower. We must rebuild our military to maintain unquestioned superiority, making it less likely that we will ever need to send our troops into battle.
  • Israel: Israel is America’s most reliable ally and an oasis of democracy and tolerance in the Middle East. Israel is truly on the front lines of the war against Islamic terror and therefore is of the utmost strategic importance to the United States. Our national security demands that the United States once again have Israel’s back.
  • Free market: Economic theory, the American experience, and the failure of alternative economic systems throughout history have shown that the free market is far and away the best economic system to create wealth and prosperity. Of equal importance, the free market promotes the economic liberty and personal freedom consistent with our Constitutional values.
  • Entitlement reform: Entitlements are the biggest threat to the long-term solvency of America. Happily, we can reform Social Security and Medicare in a way that restores solvency and still preserves full benefits for all recipients by staying true to the original purpose of these programs.
