Phyllis Cleveland
Phyllis Cleveland was the nonpartisan Ward 5 representative on the Cleveland City Council in Ohio. First elected in 2005, Cleveland won a new term in the general election on November 7, 2017. She resigned in 2021.[1]
Biography
Cleveland earned a B.A. and a J.D. from Case Western Reserve University. Her professional experience includes working an Assistant County Prosecutor in the Tax Foreclosure Department and as a Magistrate in the Foreclosure Department of Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court.[2]
Elections
2017
The city of Cleveland, Ohio, held elections on November 7, 2017. A primary election occurred on September 12, 2017. The mayor and all 17 seats on the city council were up for election. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was June 29, 2017.[3]
Incumbent Phyllis Cleveland defeated Richard Starr in the general election for Ward 5 of the Cleveland City Council.[4]
