Pia Raymond
Pia Raymond was a Democratic candidate for District 40 representative on the New York City Council in New York. She was defeated in the primary election on September 12, 2017.
Biography
Raymond earned a B.A. in psychology from Boston University and a master's degree in social work from New York University.[1][2]
At the time of her 2017 run for city council, Raymond was the founder and director of the family workshop and event nonprofit Creating Legacies. Her experience also includes work as the owner of the printing business Legacy Awards, a program manager for the New York City Mission Society, and a social worker for the Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services and service as the chair of the Community Board 9 Economic Development Committee and the vice president of the Lefferts Manor Association and the Nostrand Avenue Merchants Association.[2][3]
