Pierce Lively
Frederick Pierce Lively (b. 1921) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit. He was nominated to the court by Richard Nixon. Lively served on senior status until his death on March 12, 2016.[1]

Judicial career
Sixth Circuit
Lively was nominated by President Richard Nixon on September 12, 1972, to a seat on the Sixth Circuit vacated by Henry Brooks. He was confirmed by the Senate on October 3, 1972, and received his commission on October 5, 1972. Served as chief judge from 1983-1988. He assumed senior status on January 1, 1989 and served until his death on March 12, 2016.[2][1]
