Education
Cohalan received his undergraduate degree from Lehigh University in 1989, his J.D. degree from the Hofstra University School of Law in 1994, and his master's degree in business administration from the Columbia Business School in 2006.[1]
Career
Before his election to the Suffolk County District Court, Cohalan served as the chief deputy commissioner of public safety for the Town of Islip, New York. He also previously served as an assistant district attorney for Suffolk County and as a town attorney for the Town of Islip.[1][2]
