Pilot Point Home Rule Charter Proposition (November 2009)
The Pilot Point Home Rule Charter Proposition was on the November 3 ballot in Denton County.[1]
The city of Pilot Point voted for a change in their government, making it a council-manager type of government. The city exceeded 5,000 residents so the city council proposed this change of governance in order to better serve the growing population. The city council increased to seven members from its current five and they instead are voted in by majority, not plurality. Voters also can petition for recalls initiative and referendum election under the charter revision.[2]
