Pono Chong
Pono Chong is a former Democratic member of the Hawaii House of Representatives, representing District 49 from 2004 to 2012. He served as Majority Leader from 2011 to 2012.
Chong is President of the Hawaii International Taiko, Limited Liability Company, a part time teacher with the Pacific and Asian Affairs Council Program at Kaimuki High School, and an Assistant Project Coordinator in the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, Halawa-Luluku Interpretive Development.
Chong is a member of the Kailua High School Council Board, and the Castle High School Parent Partnership.[1]

Chong ran in the 2012 election for Hawaii House of Representatives District 48. Chong was defeated by District 47 incumbent Jessica Wooley in the Democratic primary on August 11, 2012.[2][3]

2010
Chong won re-election to the 49th District seat in 2010. Chong defeated Jon Chinen in the September 18 primary. The general election took place on November 2, 2010. Joseph Aiona ran on the Republican ticket for this seat.[4]

In 2008, Chong won re-election to the Hawaii House of Representatives from Hawaii's 49th District. Chong ran unopposed in the election. He raised $21,475 for his campaign.[5]
