Text of measure
Language on the ballot:
| “ | Shall the Village of Port Sanilac impose an increase of up to one (1) mill ($1.00 per $1,000 of taxable value), in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution and levy it for five years from January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2016 inclusive, for the specific purpose of providing maintenance, repairs, replacement, and improvements to the buildings and grounds owned by the Village of Port Sanilac, which one (1) mill increase will raise an estimated Twenty Seven Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty Six Dollars ($27,986.00) in the first year the millage is levied of which a portion will be disbursed to such other or fewer local units of government as the Village Council determines appropriate?[1][2] | ” |
