In terms of politics, my personal hero is Nelson Mandela. My wife and I went to South Africa for our honeymoon and we both read about him a lot. I am mildly obsessed with him.

Humility and honesty

I care deeply about local issues and think about them a lot. I am also very hardworking.
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
To fight for meaningful, concrete improvements for our citizens
What legacy would you like to leave?
More middle-class housing
What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?
Release of Nelson Mandela from prison. I grew up in Jamaica and I was 10 at the time. In Jamaica (as in most "black" countries) it was a very big deal.
What was your very first job? How long did you have it?
Data entry at an insurance company for a summer.
What happened on your most awkward date?
We sat in Starbucks and didn't say much for a very long time.
What is your favorite holiday? Why?
Thanksgiving.
What kind of skills or expertise do you believe would be the most helpful for the holders of this office to possess?
My policy knowledge and passion for improving the quality of life in our city.
What qualities does this office possess that makes it a unique and important part of the local government?
This office determines the zoning codes for Denver. These codes greatly impact how development in our city will proceed.
Do you believe that it’s beneficial for holders of this office to have previous experience in government or politics?
No. As long as they are hardworking and willing to learn, you can pick it up quickly.
