Pratt, Ahlquist appointed to Kansas District Courts

Topeka, Kansas: Governor Sam Brownback appointed two new District Court judges on June 9, 2011: Preston A. Pratt to the 17th Judicial District and Daryl D. Ahlquist to the 31st Judicial District. He stated, "I am pleased to appoint these two attorneys to the Kansas District Courts. They have demonstrated their commitment to their communities over many years of service, both public and private, and I am convinced they will continue to serve the people of the 17th Judicial District and the 31st Judicial District well in the years to come."
Pratt has worked as a general private practice attorney in Oberlin, KS since he graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1993. He has also served as a Logan County Attorney, Oberlin City Attorney and Assistant Decatur County Attorney. He will replace retiring judge William B. Elliott in the 17th Judicial District.
Ahlquist has spent over 30 years as a general private practice attorney in Erie, KS, following graduation from the Washburn University School of Law in 1979. He has also served as a City Attorney of Erie and Thayer. He will replace retiring Judge Timothy E. Brazil in the 31st Judicial District.[1][2]
