Presidential election key staffers by role, 2016
A presidential campaign can be a sprawling operation. In his 2008 run for President, for example, Barack Obama (D) managed "an organization with about 500 employees and a budget of $100 million."[1] With the need to appeal to voters nationally and in specific states, a candidate must have key operatives on the ground directing the political message from above.
For the 2016 presidential election, Ballotpedia has profiled the key staffers in a number of positions. Below are links to some of the high-profile positions within these campaigns. Some—like the campaign manager, political director and strategist—are key decision-making positions within a campaign. They direct and implement strategies that determine the campaign's tone as a whole. Other roles—such as communications directors and specific state directors—are the more visible messengers of a campaign's principles.
