I'm Preston Romero and I'm running for Assembly District 6. I came to California over a decade ago and the hope and promise that I found then is hard to come by nowadays. I’ve spent the last few months talking with Sacramentans about their concerns and hopes for the future. During these interactions, affordability, public safety and homelessness were topics of conversation. These issues affect all Californians and deserve practical solutions that I know are possible when we work together. As a policy analyst within the Legislature, I’ve seen what’s possible when we move beyond politics as usual. I’m ready to do the hard work and deliver solutions on behalf of our district. I’m Preston Romero and I’m running for change. I’m running for results. I’m running for Assembly. Learn more at www.prestonromero.com.
  • I am running on a platform to address public safety, homelessness and affordability. These are the issues that impact Californians regardless of their age, race, sex or other qualifier. These are issues that practical and pragmatic solutions instead of partisan pandering.
  • We have had over two decades of one-party rule in Sacramento and what has that gotten us? Higher taxes, more than a quarter of the nation's homeless population, and more of the same failure that has made our great state a national punchline. The current supermajority has used the California tax payer as a personal piggy bank to carry out an agenda that seeks to sow division rather than address the kitchen table issues that affect us all.
  • I am part of the next class of leaders who are stepping up in their communities across California to say "enough is enough" and are working to restore sanity, respect and common sense back to public discourse and public policy. I believe that the Sacramento region will be a key economic hub over the next decade and in order to capitalize upon and maximize that potential, we need bold, new leadership that is ready to make the hard choices and tough decisions necessary to facilitate real change and results.
I am most passionate about mental health and wellness, Veterans and older adult/aging issues. During my time as a policy analyst, I have had the opportunity to work on impactful legislation that involves these subject areas.
My campaign has been endorsed by the California Republican Party, the Sacramento County Republican Party, the Young Republicans of Greater Sacramento and former State Senator Ling Ling Chang.
