Frankfort, Kentucky: Proposed legislation would create public financing for those running for a seat on the Kentucky Supreme Court.[1][2] Kentucky legislator Jim Wayne has proposed the changes in the hopes of keeping Supreme Court justices impartial.[2] He fears that the court could be swayed, or 'bought', through large donations from individuals or companies during campaigning.[1] The proposal is not popular across the board, and its chances of being enacted are slim according to some news outlets.[2]
