Puerto Rico held an election for governor on November 3, 2020. A primary was scheduled for August 9, 2020. The filing deadline was December 30, 2019.
The primary election was partially suspended on August 9 because some polling centers did not receive ballots and others ran out of ballots. The primary was partially delayed until August 16, 2020.[1]

Governor

The Puerto Rico governor is an elected constitutional officer, the head of the executive branch, and the highest office in the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico. The governor is popularly elected every four years. Heading into the election, the governor was Wanda Vázquez Garced (PNP).
