Qualifying opens for general election in Louisiana

Louisiana: Tomorrow is the first of three days of official qualifying for the November 6th election in Louisiana. Though some candidates have already announced for various judicial offices, they still must file and pay fees to the Louisiana Secretary of State by 5pm on Friday, August 17th. To compete for the Louisiana Supreme Court or Louisiana Courts of Appeal, candidates must pay $450, plus $225 to the State Central Committee if running on a party ticket. District Court candidates pay $300, pllus $150 if running on a party ticket.[1]

There will be several judicial races in the General Election. Below are the eligible offices.
