Coleman ran in the 2012 election for Tennessee State Senate District 10. Coleman ran against Andrae McGary and David Testerman in the August 2, 2012 Democratic primary. Todd Gardenhire ran against Greg Vital in the Republican primary. Incumbent Democrat Andy Berke did not seek re-election.[1]
