2014

McKnight's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[3]

Economic Development is Priority

  • Excerpt: "Keeping Tennessee an attractive state for job creation is a top priority. Making sure that Tennesseans are working and taking care of their families is a top priority. Making sure that families get to experience the "American Dream" is a top priority. Making sure that each and every small business owner is educated about what's available for their business growth is a priority."

Education Improvement

  • Excerpt: "I support a pathway to vocational skills training and a strong extracurricular program to develop creativity and teamwork that prepares students for the 21st century global marketplace. My vision includes a strong program to prepare students for a college education, but also training for those careers which a higher education is not the right path or choice for the student at the present moment in their life."

Right to Life-Life is a Miracle

  • Excerpt: "Its time for a new way to discuss and invest in women on the life issue. We have to remind people of why purpose exists in their life, not that we have the power to pass laws to dictate to women on what to do with their bodies, but how it is addressed politically. Life is a terrible thing to waste. As a product of the adoption/foster care system, I am a miracle, I have a purpose and life should not be wasted."
