R.W. Buzzard is a district court judge for the Lewis County District Court in Lewis County, Washington.[1] He was re-elected by voters in 2014, winning a four-year term that expired on January 6, 2019.[2] [3]

Noteworthy events
2018
On October 16, 2018, Buzzard made national headlines after he gave chase to two inmates who attempted to flee his courtroom. Buzzard apprehended one of the men, Kodey Howard, before he was able to exit the courthouse. The other inmate, Tanner Jacobson, was apprehended by authorities shortly after exiting the courthouse. Both Howard and Jacobson were subsequently charged with second-degree escape.[5]
