R. Stanton Wettick, Jr.
R. Stanton Wettick, Jr. is a former judge on the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania.[1] Wettick was first appointed to the court in 1976 by then-Gov. Milton Shapp (D). Wettick was elected to a 10-year term in 1977 and retained in 1987 and 1997. He declined to run for retention in 2007 and became a senior judge at the age of 69. Wettick retired in December 2016 after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 78.[2]
Biography
Wettick earned his undergraduate degree from Amherst College in 1960 and his J.D. from Yale University in 1963.[3]
Wettick has worked in private practice and as an assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and the executive director of the Neighborhood Legal Services Association.[4]
