R. Thomas Wagner, Jr.
R. Thomas Wagner, Jr. is a former Delaware State Auditor. Wagner, a Republican, served in the position from 1989 to 2019.[1]
Biography
Prior to becoming auditor, Wagner was a state bank examiner for the office of the State Bank Commissioner and a staff member of the Delaware House of Representatives.[1] His early career also included public service in his local community where he was a two-term Mayor of Camden, Delaware.[1] He is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), a Certified Government Finance Manager (CGFM) and a Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA).[1]

Delaware State Auditor (1989-2019)
Wagner was first appointed as Delaware State Auditor in 1989 to serve out the unexpired term of his predecessor. He was elected to a full term in 1990 and was re-elected six times.

Wagner ran for re-election as Delaware State Auditor. He was uncontested in the Republican primary.[3] The general election took place on November 4, 2014.
