My name is Rachael Price, and I have been a proud Tift County resident since 2016. I teach English at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, and my job at ABAC is what brought me and my family to Tift County in 2016. I live in District 6 with my husband, Christopher, and daughter, Verity. From our first days here my family has loved Tift County and its unique blend of a college-town atmosphere and a small-town-America feel, with a thriving rural economy and lush natural resources just beyond the city limits. I am running for Tift County Commission to give a fair voice to all residents of the community, and make sure that constituents' needs and concerns are reflected in the commission's votes.
  • I want Tift County to grow and expand in a way that not only brings more people and more revenue to our community, but also in a way that respects and honors the special character and integrity of individual neighborhoods. I promised to make zoning decisions that prioritize the needs of constituents over those of outside investors.
  • As a defender of Tift County's beautiful rural spaces, I promise to push for codes that explicitly keep crypto-mining out of our community--completely.
  • In a small community like Tift County, I think it is imperative that our city and county governments should work together for the good of all of our citizens. As the commissioner for District 6, I will push for a fair and responsible partnership with the City of Tifton.
As a candidate for the Tift County Commission, my most important goal is to advocate for the citizens of Tift County. I want to bring fairness and transparency to my role as commissioner, and I promise to always prioritize the needs of our citizens of those of outside investors.
