Rachel Chumney was a candidate for the Place 6 seat on the Richardson school board in Texas. She lost to fellow challenger Justin Bono in the election on May 10, 2014.

Chumney is the mother of three young children in RISD. She is a community activist and a career volunteer. Prior to starting a family, Chumney worked as a loan officer with National Bank of Commerce. She has her bachelor's degree from the University of Mississippi and has completed graduate coursework at Cornell University.[1]
