Hurd won re-election to the San Ramon Valley Unified School District school board to represent Trustee Area 5 in California outright after the general election on November 8, 2022, was canceled.

Hurd filed to run for re-election in the general election on November 6, 2018, but the election was canceled due to lack of opposition. Hurd won the election by default.[1]
