I’m Rachelle Litt, running to represent Florida’s 94th District. As a Councilmember, Vice Mayor, and Mayor of Palm Beach Gardens, I implemented policies that grew small businesses, expanded workforce housing, and improved our local economy through smart, sustainable development.

My husband, Dr. Jeffrey Litt, and I have called Palm Beach County home for nearly 40 years. As a 45-year pharmacy professional, I spent 19 years as a hospital pharmacist at Jupiter Medical Center and St. Mary’s Medical Center. I also hold a Consultant Pharmacist Certification from Nova Southeastern University. My experience in healthcare, particularly within underserved communities, uniquely qualifies me to address Florida’s healthcare challenges.

I became involved in politics due to my firsthand experience with the flaws in our healthcare system, both professionally and as a mom to children born with genetic medical conditions. I’ve been a grassroots organizer for President Obama and Congressman Patrick Murphy, as well as a delegate to the Democratic National Conventions for Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden. In 2020, I served on President-Elect Biden’s Transition Healthcare Policy Team.

Elected to the Palm Beach Gardens City Council in 2017, I served 6 years, including terms as Vice Mayor and Mayor. I'm the leader Florida needs to navigate its future.
  • Tackling the property insurance crisis: I will work to provide real relief for homeowners by supporting reforms that create more competition in the property insurance market and protect families from unaffordable rate hikes. It’s time we think outside the box, removing lobbyists from the equation, creating an independent insurance taskforce, and moving beyond tort reform to hold insurance companies accountable.
  • Protecting reproductive rights: I believe that women should have the right to make their own healthcare decisions without interference from politicians. The extreme attacks on reproductive rights are not just an assault on our freedoms, but they put women’s health and lives at risk. I will fight to protect a woman’s right to choose and ensure that healthcare decisions remain between a woman and her doctor—where they belong. We must safeguard access to reproductive healthcare and stand up against efforts to strip away our rights. Bodily autonomy is the most important freedom we possess as human beings and it is central to our dignity as women.
  • Expanding affordable quality healthcare: I’m committed to ensuring that healthcare is more affordable and accessible for all Floridians. No one should have to choose between paying their medical bills and putting food on the table. I’ll fight to lower prescription drug prices, expand access to affordable health coverage, and ensure that every family has the healthcare they need, when they need it, without the fear of financial ruin. Healthcare is a right and I will work tirelessly to make sure everyone gets the care they deserve.
My journey into politics began in 2010 when I became a passionate advocate for the Affordable Care Act. My own family’s struggles with healthcare deeply motivated me—my daughter was denied coverage for a serious pre-existing condition, and I was paying for a policy that didn’t protect her. I had two other children with the same condition that would be facing the same situation a few years later. That experience ignited my commitment as a parent and healthcare provider to fight for better access to quality, affordable healthcare, support candidates who advocated positive change and led me to run for office myself in 2016.
My biggest inspiration is my husband, Dr. Jeffrey Litt. He is deeply empathetic and highly respected in both his personal and professional life. His ability to connect with people, his calm demeanor, his support for truth and justice in all that he does, and his unwavering support for me over the years have been incredible. These qualities are the ones I strive to emulate in public service.
Truth, integrity, transparency, and dedication to serving the public are critical. Elected officials must listen to all voices, even those with differing opinions, and remain focused on the needs of their constituents. Honesty and accountability are crucial, as well as a commitment to making decisions that serve the greater good, not personal or political interests.
I’m proud to be endorsed by 13 organizations that share my commitment to reproductive rights, healthcare, and education, including Florida Education Association, Florida Planned Parenthood PAC, Moms Demand Action, Palm Beach County Human Rights Council Voters Alliance, Ruth's List Florida, SEIU, IAFF Local 5470, Palm Beach County Medical Society MEDPAC, and Giffords PAC. Additionally, I have the support of over 40 elected officials and community leaders, including from members of Congress, to State Legislators, to local Mayors and City Councilmembers and everything in between, all of whom stand with me in fighting for a better Florida.
I am particularly interested in serving on the Health Care Appropriations & Healthcare Regulation Committee, the Postsecondary & Workforce Education Committee, and the Agricultural Appropriations Committee. These committees align with my goals of improving healthcare access and align with an important economic driver in our community.
Financial transparency and government accountability are absolutely essential to building trust between the public and their elected officials. As a representative, I will push for clear, transparent budgeting processes and hold government agencies accountable for how taxpayer dollars are spent. It’s critical that we have systems in place to ensure every dollar is used efficiently and ethically to serve the people of Florida.
