Biography
Rae Yawer was born in Hyderabad, India. She earned an international high school diploma through the University of Cambridge and a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from St. Francis College. She also studied business law and accounting at Northeastern Illinois University. Yawer’s career experience includes working as a mortgage consultant. She was elected Commissioner of the Streamwood Park District Board in 2017 and served as its Vice President.[1]

I have over 19 Years of experience in finance and mortgage lending, helping first time homebuyers secure affordable loans and live the American dream. My finance and accounting background enable me to effectively manage the budget of the Streamwood Park District saving residents significant tax dollars.
As a passionate champion for affordable healthcare, I've have been closely involved with fundraising for the Compassionate Care Network for 5 years. I'm focused on returning to the truest meaning of Democracy: giving power back to the people and empowering workers and the middle class. It also means standing up for the truth against the powerful establishment. With twenty years of public service experience and a progressive vision, I will bring a much-needed breath of fresh air to Springfield.- Illinois is facing a massive, $137 billion pension debt which is going up by $5 billion each year. I want a constitutional amendment, but not the one that everyone talks about. An amendment barring the legislature from ever taking a pension holiday again. That is where this crisis originally took root. This is a complex and dire matter. I will make this issue a top priority and work with both parties in the state legislature and the governor's office to push a bill through.
- My mission in life is to ensure that no one in my district is treated differently or as a lesser human being. I will fight for affordable college, advocate to remove the stigma of mental Illness and make sure we have fair representation, equality, justice, and inclusion. I stand up against those who can't see what is possible.
- There are billions of dollars in wasteful Government spending. I will advocate smarter, more effective spending. We need to expand our revenue generation through economic development. The Illinois economy must operate at peak efficiency. The proposed Graduated Income Tax will create additional revenue that should be allocated to help the middle class and the Seniors.
I'm not going to compromise when it comes to standing up for the vulnerable and historically marginalized, but I'm also going to engage those who disagree. I will diligently work with lawmakers in the Illinois Legislature and our Governor to implement a range of programs aimed at easing the loan burden that threatens to financially cripple the next generation of students in Illinois. I will lead on legislation that increases access to services, programs, and treatments for mental illness.
I strongly support a policy requiring that all Illinois students have access to the same educational resources and experiences regardless of what public school they attend.
Get dark money out of politics. Advocate campaign finance reform that prevents the wealthy and powerful from buying elections.

Another challenge is economic inequality and social inequality. I believe that every individual has value and should be respected. People should have equal opportunities, regardless of the color of their skin, their gender or their religion. I'm running to represent all the people in District 22, specially the marginalized communities. The current elected officials are complacent and not available to the working class and the middle class. I'm not beholden to large corporations, lobbyists, or special interest groups.
