My career has been defined by a commitment to justice and the rule of law. After graduating from law school, I returned home to Georgia to fight for our fundamental rights. As an ACLU voting rights attorney, I successfully sued when Georgia Republicans rigged our district maps, ensuring fairer representation for our communities. As a civil rights prosecutor, I held authorities accountable when conditions in county jails turned deadly and secured justice for families whose children with disabilities were unfairly turned away from daycares.
I have always put principles over politics. When the Department of Justice under the Trump Administration began dismantling civil rights protections, I chose to leave a job I loved because my values were more important than a paycheck.
Today, I live in Norcross with my wife, Julia, a physician. My priorities are rooted in the challenges facing hardworking families: lowering the cost of living, protecting our immigrant neighbors from government overreach, defending the right to vote, and expanding access to affordable healthcare. I have spent my life fighting for Georgians in the courtroom. Now, I am ready to fight for you in the State Senate.- A Proven Record of Winning for Georgians: Voters should know that I am not just a candidate who talks about change; I am a fighter with a proven track record of delivering results. When Georgia Republicans rigged our district maps, I sued and won. When conditions in a local jail turned deadly, I held authorities accountable. When daycares turned away children with disabilities, I secured justice for those families. My career as a civil rights attorney and prosecutor has been dedicated to standing up for the vulnerable and ensuring that the law works for everyone, not just the powerful. In the State Senate, I will bring that same tenacity to fight for the residents of District 7.
- Protecting Our Democracy: Our democracy is under threat, and I have dedicated my career to protecting it. I have sued the State of Georgia over fair electoral maps, prevented thousands of voters from being unlawfully purged from the rolls, and fought to keep polling locations open. In the legislature, I will be a tireless champion for the right to vote. I believe that every eligible voter's voice deserves to be heard. I will fight against government overreach and partisan efforts to silence voters, ensuring that our elections remain free, fair, and accessible to all citizens who wish to participate in our democracy.
- Lowering Costs and Expanding Opportunity for All: As a millennial, I understand firsthand how the American Dream is slipping out of reach for too many. From skyrocketing rents and groceries to the crippling cost of healthcare, hardworking families are being squeezed. I am running to lower the cost of living by taking on corporate interests and championing policies that put money back in your pocket. This includes fighting to finally expand Medicaid in Georgia to close the coverage gap and lower healthcare costs. I am committed to making sure Georgia is not just a place where people come to live, but a place where every family has the opportunity to thrive.
