grew up right in the heart of representative district 2 in the stunning and quaint city of Roseburg, Oregon. I'm a proud graduate of Roseburg High School and student at Southwestern Oregon Community College, where I study history and compete at the national level for their renowned swim team.

I grew up in a lower middle class family with a disabled father and a mother who is a rural teacher in Douglas County. I've always known that I started at a disadvantage, but that won't stop me from working hard and improving my own situation as well as others who find themselves struggling to get by. What is happening north up in Salem isn't what the people of Oregon want. I believe that the people of Oregon are tired of seeing our communities torn apart by constant bickering and "do-nothing" legislation. Salem needs a voice of the next generation that is tired of all the B.S and will fight for the issues that matter most.

I'm running for office because District 2 is my home and I want to see it live up to the potential I know it's capable of. We live in such a unique area of the State, we need to see that its people, jobs and environment are represented with integrity and grit.
  • As a young candidate I feel like I bring a new voice to the table that could bring so much up in Salem.

-We need to be replanting our trees, we need to be taking better care of our forests to prevent wildfires

-I want to try to implement term limits within our state Legislature so that we can get more fresh faces into legislation and really make sure there’s not people staying in there for too long
-I want to create a independent redistributing commission and implement rank choice voting
-I want to prioritize the expansion and development of Oregon Community Colleges
-I want to try to implement term limits within our state Legislature so that we can get more fresh faces into legislation and really make sure there’s not people staying in there for too long

- I want to raise awareness and create new laws targeting Internet Scalpers
My biggest political inspiration in my life is President Theodore(Teddy) Roosevelt. He commanded with a "Big Stick" and if I'm elected I will too. The next generation of leaders is here and we will make Oregon a better place for all that live here.
I believe that elected officials have the responsibility of upholding the ideals they portrayed prior to being elected, while also delivering to the promises they made to their best abilities. They must work to improve the lives of those who elected them and not to serve self interests.
For someone as young as I am legacy can be perceived in so many ways, but for many they view it as the achievements and contributions you made for others to see. Currently the only legacy I have is my personal success in the sport of swimming, but being so young I know I have much more to do. I want to create a legacy of truthfulness, and the willingness to help and serve others. I want to be able to make a difference wether that is in politics or one day in the classroom. Wether or not I am elected I will still want to make a difference even if it’s teaching the next generation. The legacy I leave behind is one that I want myself and those around me to be proud of.
The first historical event that happened during my lifetime was the raid and killing of Osama bin Laden on May 2, 2011. I was 10 years old at the time but I still remember seeing it all over the news.
My first job was as a lifeguard at my local community college Umpqua Community College. I worked their only during the summers for every summer from 2017-2019
The last song that got stuck in my head was “A Man Without Love” by Engelbert Humperdinck. This song was actually released in 1968, but it was recently featured on the first episode of the Marvel Disney Plus show “Moon Knight” and I have been listening to it nonstop as of late.
The containment and prevention of wildfire's. In the last decade we have seen the rise of wildfire rates within Oregon. As climate change continues to get worse and worse, so will wildfires on the west coast.
One of the benefits of a unicameral state legislature is the fact that laws can be passed far more efficiently then a bicameral state legislature. However one of the drawbacks of a unicameral state legislature is the fact that there is no checks and balances within the legislature.
I think that it is beneficial for state legislatures to have previous experience in government or politics, but I also believe that it is beneficial for state legislatures to have education before getting into politics. There are far too many unqualified candidates nationwide without proper education.
I do believe that is beneficial to build relationships with other legislatures, if you are unable to build relationships and get to know one another how will you be able build a better world with one another.
I believe that in Oregon we should create an independent redistricting commission that acts outside of the interests of political parties.
I think that legislature should be able to grant emergency powers if necessary, in times such as the Covid-19 Pandemic we sometimes don’t have time to wait and the legislature should be able to grant such powers.
During a time of substantial political polarization, I think that it has never been more important to make compromises between both parties and lawmakers. Without compromise we are all left with more problems then we started out with.
