I am a business owner and a patriot. I know that words carries different meanings to different people but to me it just means a love for those in my country and those in my community. I value the input of others and putting there needs above my own and I look forward to the possibility of doing that at a greater level.
  • I strive to be the most open and transparent with those I serve since I represent everyone's interest not just mine.
  • I want to find solutions to the communitys pressing problems, such as education, jobs, and homelessness, and mental health crisis
  • I am a firm believer in term limits and believe a citizen servant leader should only serve a max of two terms and then pass the baton. This is not a career, it is a privilege
I am most passionate about education and mental health because I believe they go hand in hand in shaping the future of our state and community. If we don't invest in our youth and make sure they have the resources to cope with the trials of life we get the problems and crisis we currently are facing.
If I had to pick one person I look up to it would be my Mom. My Mom passed away in 2009 from cardiac arrest but her drive and determination to care for her children despite life trials still inspires me to this day. She had 9 kids in total including myself and also had Multiple Sclerosis so she couldn't work. Mostly growing up it was just her youngest 3 kids who lived with her full time and she only received SSI to support her. No matter what happened in her life or what obstacles were thrown at her she never gave up or allowed us to see her struggle and she will always be my example on how to continue to fight and care for others.
The world's most powerful leadership principle: How to become a servant leader.

My whole philosophy of life is leading with others in mind first.
I believe I am honest and transparent which is important for any officeholder to have. Many candidate make an effort to scrub there past life before announcing to create a certain fake identity to show voters. I did not and will not do that. I have made mistakes like many but I will hide those or who I am now from my community.
Being a voice for the people of your district without personal bias or selfishness. You are presenting an entire district not just yourself so you have to keep that in mind as you take on this job.
My dream legacy is simple: leave my community and state better then I found it. If I can impact one person's life for the better through my campaign or term if elected then all this will have been well worth it.
The first historical event I remember was 9/11. I was almost 3 years old and I remember sitting in the living room that morning with my Mom and watching the broadcast on TV.
My very first job was as a cashier for Dairy Queen in Oakridge, OR while I was in high school. I worked there for roughly 8 months before moving away from the city
My favorite book would have to be Divergent. The writing style and imagination it took to write that book is incredible.
If I could be any fictional character it would be spiderman because I want to be able to sling through the sky's.
The last song to stick in my head would probably be, No Hard Feelings by Old Dominion. Shows the story of progress and coming to terms with the past.
A major struggle in my life has been depression and anxiety. Like I mentioned above I will not create a fake version of myself just to win a campaign. When I lost my Mom in 2009 I spiraled downhill and began to self harm and have thoughts of taking my own life but the example my mother set gives me the strength to keep moving every day and fight for what I believe.
I believe the ideal relationship between. The governor and the state legislature should be one of cooperation and professionalism. The state legislature is there to represent the people and give them a voice as is the governor but in two different capacities. Without the other very little would get done. I believe the legislative should design, craft, and pass legislation with the input of the governor but without the pressure of the governor
I perceive in all honesty the mental health and education crisis to be Oregon's greatest challenge over the next decade. Oregon has consistently rated in the bottom of the country as far as graduation rate for a very long time and we have also seen an increasing amount of homelessness and suicide over the last decade. I believe these are in some way connected and I believe in order to combat one you have to tackle the other as well.
I believe the benefits could be a lot more streamlined legislative process in the sense you don't need the consent of two bodies to agree on a bill but on the flip side of that I believe that's also the biggest drawback because you lose the checks and balances of the body if you only need consent from one group of individuals to enact state wide change.
I do not. I believe the longer you sit in anyone position or any one chamber the more you lose sight of why you were elected to begin with. The founding fathers didn't have any government experience for the most part they were just citizens who wanted a better future and I think that's how it should be.
I do. Without relationships it just becomes an endless cycle of disagreement. By building relationships you allow the other legislators to see what kind of person you are and allow you to come to common ground on tough issues.
Redistricting should be done by the state legislature and then ratified by the people of the state by a statewide vote in a special election. We palace to much power in the hands of current leaders to set the political landscape for far to long of a time without Input by the people.
I would like to be apart of the small business committee and also the education committee.
In the future I would consider running for US Congress for a length of two terms if my community would have me but that is a decision to be made in time.
Why did the scarecrow win an award? Because he was outstanding in his field. (I know corny but still funny)
Yes. I believe the legislative is the closest thing we have to a people's voice in the state and they deserve the right to grant it withdraw power in these cases.
I do believe compromise is necessary in our political system. Across the state we represent a multitude of people from different backgrounds and in order to accomplish tasks and do the jobs we were elected to do we have to be willing to put ourselves in the shoes of others and get the job done.
