An effort to recall Supervisor Jay Cavanaugh, clerk Betty Holdridge, treasurer Kami Johnson and trustees Larry Crittenden, Tom Hawkins, Deb Brousseau and Dale Mitchell in Raisin Township, Michigan from their positions was launched in October 2014.[1] The recall effort did not go to a vote because no signatures were turned in.[2]

Recall proponent arguments

The officials are targeted for two reasons:[1]

  • “Voted for purchase of a fire truck costing in excess of $400,000 without advertising for and obtaining competitive sealed bids.”
  • “the Board eliminated the opportunity for citizens to comment at the conclusion of board meetings.”
