Ralph Cappy is a former justice for the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Cappy retired from the Pennsylvania Supreme Court on January 7, 2008. After stepping down from the court, he joined the firm of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC.[1]

Education

Cappy earned a B.S. in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh in 1965. In 1968, he received a J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Additionally, he has an honorary Doctor of Laws from Widener University.[2]

Campaign contributions

In the 1989 campaign for the Supreme Court, Cappy raised $1,442,236. Lawyers and lobbyists donated the majority, with $757,154, or 52.50%. The second largest donors to Cappy's campaign was labor with $114,970, or 7.97%. Finance and insurance industry donations amounted to $99,730, or 6.91%.[3]
