Campaign themes

2016

Gutierez's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[1]

Reform insurance rules. The skyrocketing cost of insurance is eating away at our income. It’s your money. I will work hard to reform insurance rules, lower rates, and improve coverage.

Improve public education so we all succeed. I will work with educators to replace Common Core, seek increased funding for public education, and support adult technical and vocational training to support industrial growth. No more FSA testing!

Expand Medicaid in Florida. Public health care is a basic right in civilized societies. For those who cannot afford healthcare, we must accept federal funds to help provide for Floridians in need.

The future is green. We can save tax dollars and increase revenues by adopting clean energy and green technologies to improve efficiency and provide safe, reliable energy for Florida while protecting our valuable natural resources.[2]
