Romero issued the following statements highlighting his campaign themes to the Star-Telegram:[8]
- Excerpt: "Education is the keystone to all successes in our society. A good education is the base from which all other goals are reachable. A failed education costs us all for the lifetime of the child left behind. I’ll fight to reinstate funds to our public education budget."
- Excerpt: "I’ve watched good jobs and businesses leave our community for years. Collaboration with the development community such as the Renaissance Square can happen on a greater scale. Small business mentorship and support will bring quality jobs to the communities most desperate for development. Texas is front and center in the creation of jobs and a growing economy. But this doesn’t touch everyone’s life. We need to make it easier for the people of District 90 to create and grow their own businesses."
- Excerpt: "Poor Voter Turnout and Engagement-We will bring the electorate out in the communities and age groups not normally seen."
- Excerpt: "Education and healthcare for ALL Texans. Quality education in all zip codes across Texas, and educational opportunities for adults previously left behind. The development of long term solutions to the growth of Texas, bringing jobs and development to overlooked neighborhoods in the district."

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
Click here for an overview of legislative scorecards in all 50 states. To contribute to the list of scorecards, email suggestions to editor@ballotpedia.org.
