A Rancho Palos Verdes Improvement of Marymount College, Measure P ballot question was on the November 2, 2010 ballot for voters in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes in Los Angeles County. It was defeated.
Measure R would have permitted the construction of campus dormitories and other major improvements on the grounds of Marymount College, a small Catholic college.
A simple majority vote was required for approval.

Support
Marymount College supported Measure P. From July 1-September 30, 2010, the college had spent $1.203 million on its campaign to urge a "yes" vote on Measure R.[1]
Opposition
Ken Dyda, a former city mayor, led the campaign in opposition to Measure P.[2]
Steve Wolowicz, mayor of Rancho Palos Verdes, opposed Measure P, as did the other members of the Rancho Palos Verdes city council.[2]

The question on the ballot:
Measure P: Shall an ordinance be adopted that would enact a new specific plan and related amendments to the City of Rancho Palos Verdes ("City") general plan and zoning ordinance to: (1) allow development of specified facility improvements, including dormitories, on the Marymount College Campus ("Campus") located at 30800 Palos Verdes Drive East; (2) govern the operation of the Campus, and (3) supersede inconsistent provisions of the Municipal Code and prior City land use decisions regarding the Campus?[3] |
