Randolph J. Haines
Randolph J. Haines was the Chief Judge for the United States bankruptcy court, District of Arizona. He was appointed in March of 2000.[1] On February 1, 2013, Haines was elevated to the position of chief judge. He retired on March 16, 2014, after 14 years on the court.[2]
Education
Judge Haines attended the University of Wisconsin in 1970 for his Bachelors Degree. In 1975 he earned a PH.D. in philosophy from Yale University and in 1978 he graduated with his J.D. from Stanford Law School.[1]
Career
Haines practiced with the Phoenix law firm of Lewis and Roca upon graduation and practiced there for 22 years, primarily in the areas of bankruptcy and commercial litigation, until his appointment March 2000.[1]
He also serves on the Arizona State Bar’s Committee on the Rules of Professional Conduct, the committee that issues formal and informal advisory opinions on lawyer ethics.[1]
