Randolph Parro
Randolph H. Parro was a judge in the Louisiana Court of Appeal First Circuit. He was appointed to this position in 1993 and was assigned to the first district. His most recent term expired on December 31, 2014, after he decided not to run for re-election.[1]
Education
Parro is a 1967 graduate of the Louisiana State University Law School.[2]
Career
Parro was first elected to the bench in 1982, when he became a judge on the 17th Judicial District Court for the Parish of Lafourche. He held this position until his appointment to the court of appeals in 1993.[3]
Censure
In May 2003, Parro was publicly censured as the result of his conduct concerning the prosecution of his niece. The judge contacted the district attorney, trial judge and father of the victim (that he knew personally) on behalf of his niece. The supreme court found that although the judge did not intentionally violate judicial ethics and was acting on behalf of a family member, still, "it is clear that his interventions on behalf of his niece were absolutely improper."[3]
